The microchip identification procedure is simple. A Tiny microchip (about the size of a grain of rice) is painlessly injected under the loose skin between your pet's shoulder blades. Each microchip has a unique I.D. number to identify your pet for life. Important information on you and your pet is then entered into a National Database. If your pet is lost, the microchip I.D. number can be read by scanners at hundreds of animal shelters across Canada. These shelters routinely scan all pets for a microchip. If a chip is detected, a call to the 24 hour toll free hotline will identify you as the rightful owner and you will be contacted immediately. The microchip is completely safe. It is made from bio-compatible material and its patented anti-migratory design keeps the ship safely in place. Microchip identification is available at veterinary clinics across Canada.

Microchip identification is a safe, painless and permanent method of pet identification. Collars and tags are important - but they can be removed or may fall off. Tattoos are often difficult to read, harder to trace, and painful to apply.
